Gunpla Build - High Grade Gerbera Tetra (Part 3)

Torso and Backpack

In one of the Intro posts, I mentioned how the Gerbera Tetra is in some way influenced by/linked to/related to the Kampfer. You can really see it here in the torso:

While certainly not identical, I think they have the same basic shape for sure.

Once again, we get some fantastic surface level details to fill in, including some giant screws embedded in its sides, and a whole lot of vents.

As for the backpack it’s basically just a fancy, single thruster:

It easily detaches from the main body, in case you want to attach the Sturm Booster:

Personally, I prefer this “standard” look. No idea what the spike is for, but it certainly looks intimidating.

Hey look, there’s a decal on the back! And more tiny thrusters!

From a certain perspective, I suppose one can claim that this resembles the Kampfer’s head, but I personally think it stands on its own:

I like how it flares out to the sides; as we’ll soon see, there is a similar visual cue on the arms. I also like how it has a green monoeye, which isn’t terribly common.

On its own, the head doesn’t seem like much, but stick it on the body and it’s starting to look pretty menacing.

Arms

Usually the arms are the simplest part of a High Grade, but not this time. There’s just too much going on. You’ve the machine guns on the wrist, the thrusters in the shoulders, and the … um … thingies that drape off each shoulder.

Unlike the legs, there’s not quite a full inner frame going on underneath, but boy are there a lot of armor parts. Every time you think you’re done, there’s something else to add.

What comes out of it all is fairly intricate for a High Grade:

A couple notes:

  • The shoulder thrusters don’t move all that much. Makes me wonder why they’re there, since they can’t point backwards (or forwards).
  • The thrustery/venty/drapey thingies also don’t move around too much.
  • As you can see, there were more screws and cables to paint.

Conclusion

That’s the Gerbera Tetra for you folks. Now it’s all built and ready to go:

We’ll see how it fares during photos. I can’t wait!
